We are fortunate to have the CC Bluegrass Ensemble on our stage for the second time in recent months (they played in November for us when the originally scheduled feature band had to cancel), and it will be a treat to see where their studies and performance work have taken them in that time. The ensemble is an academic instrumental and vocal program that provides students a challenging and creative environment to develop material with the feel and structure of bluegrass music. Keith Reed, a seasoned touring musician, leads the program at CC.
The ensemble draws from traditional sources including Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, and the Stanley Brothers. The group frequently performs at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown held annually in April.
NOTE: Donations and proceeds from this show will be donated to the family of our late friend and sound man Joel Theriault, to help with expenses for his care the past few years.
Opening acts are Lost Joe and Rob Silk.
