vOLUNTEER WITH THE BLACK ROSE
The Black Rose is run almost entirely by volunteers. Our organization only exists because of time and energy from folks giving back to our community. If you enjoy our concerts, jams, classes, and other events, won’t you consider helping? You can apply in person at any of our shows or by email at:

Here are some current volunteering opportunities. All of our openings require good communication and organization skills and the ability to communicate effectively by electronic means. We use email to coordinate most of our activities:
Bookkeeper
As the Black Rose grows, our tax filing and general accounting becomes more and more complicated. We are looking for someone with an accounting background who can assist our treasurer with some of these ever-growing tasks. Many of these are currently done manually, and the position would involve helping to automate them using tools such as Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel. There will also be a potential migration path into the treasurer position within the next two years.
Sound Engineer
We are looking for people to help set up and tear down our stage and run sound for our Friday night concerts. If you have some background in operating sound mixers and a basic understanding of audio signals and how they get processed in a live environment, we’d like you to consider joining our team. Training will take place at the Buffalo Lodge on Wednesday evenings, as well as at the Black Forest Community Center during our Friday concerts. Depending on your experience level, you will be initially paired up with one of our existing team members until you feel comfortable mixing a show on your own. Good people skills are a must as we need to interact with our musicians and make their experience as positive as possible.
