David Bradley is the band leader of the Flying W Wranglers, our local Western-swing heroes. The Wranglers have been performing for over 65 years, making them the second-oldest Western-music group in the world. For this performance, David and his buddy, Verolen Kersey on bass, will step away from the pure swing of the Wranglers to offer us a rare set of the country and traditional songs they were brought up on.

David was raised in the West Texas town of Muleshoe. His first love is Western music. He was influenced by his father, a World Champion Yodeler, who taught him to sing, yodel, sing harmony, and play  guitar. He started playing piano at 5, and sang harmony with his dad's gospel quartet when he was 8.

It was a dream come true when David Bradley was invited to join the Grammy Award-winning Western music group the Sons of the Pioneers in 1988. While performing with this legendary group for 5 years, David became known as one of the greatest yodelers in the world, and still is today.

David has been honored by the Smithsonian Institute, Western Music Hall of Fame, Singing Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the Western Swing Hall of Fame. In 2012, he was named Yodeler of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists. David has also made numerous appearances on the Grand Ole Opry. David is a true icon of the Western-music genre.

We don't get to see David perform outside the Wranglers very often, so this should be a very special evening of traditional American music.
