TANASI is an award-winning world grass trio of three celebrated Asheville, NC-area roots artists. Their sound features the tight sister harmonies of MerleFest-winning songwriter Anya Hinkle and Mary Lucey (Biscuit Burners, Uncle Earl) with the inimitable dobro musings of Billy Cardine, who Jerry Douglas calls “an amazing Dobro player, fluent in everything that I do and everybody that has come before.”
Members of the trio have toured the world over from Japan to India to Europe and across the US on stages such as Bonnaroo, the Grand Ole Opry, MerleFest, Carnegie Hall, the Ryman Auditorium, and Rockygrass. After our years of performing together, the trio has leaned in to bring their own unique world-inspired mountain music to listening rooms, festival stages, and theaters across the US and Europe.
Here’s what others are saying about Tanasi:
“Certainly striking, certainly beautiful… everything one could look for in a bluegrass-tinged Americana”— AmericanaUK
“…vivid songwriting and transportive vocals…”— Folk Alley
Opening acts: Ben and Ben Music, Paul Wigton
