Dawn and Hawkes perform at The Black Rose Acoustic Society

Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes formed Dawn and Hawkes after a chance meeting on an Austin dance floor. The first time they sang together, they found a sound Texas Monthly calls “undeniably intimate.” Their initial duo effort, Golden Heart, climbed to No. 25 on Billboard’s Folk chart. It landed at No. 2 in iTunes singer-songwriter albums, kicking off a whirlwind of cross-country and international touring and original albums.

Acoustic Guitar hails their musicality as “Impeccable vocal harmonies and instrumentation.” At the same time, The Austin American Statesman describes their songs as “sweet folk-rock – instantly appealing tunes – rooted in the singer-songwriter heyday of the early 1970s, they also fit well into the modern-day indie-folk revival,” and Huffington Post summarizes “Transcendent alternative-folk — you will find yourself craving more from this amazing, dynamic duo.” 

Dawn and Hawkes' newest album, Light Inside, illuminates the warm glow of family homes, old guitars, familiar stories, new infatuation, and loyal, long-standing love. It's an invitation to embrace the light that comes from all of us.

Doors open at 6:15 pm; the concert starts at 7:00 pm with two opening acts. $15 general admission, $8 members and students with ID; free for ages 12 and younger (become a member before or at the show and $tart $aving right away!).

No advance ticket sales. Admission is only at the door.
